3 Clips and Evaluation

Widowmaker Dance

The first clip that I may use is the above dance from the game Overwatch. This would be a good animation for my character as it uses a variety of movements with all parts of the body, including bending at the waist (which tends to be less common), while the speed of the movements make it clear what is happening at any point in the animation. The movements are also all very possible to be replicated by a humanoid character, so animating the character to do this would not be too much of a problem.
However, the number of movements overall may be seen as somewhat limited, as of it being a ballet type dance.  Overall, this clip would be a good choice to animate, since it has a good variety of movement that can be replicated, while only having one possible, minor problem.

Mime pushing object

This clip is a clear and somewhat straightforward animation, as it is performed by a mime, it has very exaggerated movements which would be effective in an animation, and as there are no physical objects blocking the view, it is easy to see what movements are being done, so this would be clear on what to replicate.
On the other hand, one thing that may not be as good for using this in an animation is that the movements after the pushing on the "object" begins are fairly repetitive, as it is repeated pushing, so it loses variety later on. In conclusion, this clip would be the most straightforward, but has clear movements and no stress on needing to rotate the character (as it is all in one direction).

Charlie Chaplin - Factory Work

The section of this clip that I would use is from 2:25. This would be good as the actor Charlie Chaplin uses very exaggerated gestures and movements,  while the speed of what he is doing means there is also a good variety of body movements and gestures to use in the animation. This clip also includes sitting down and standing up, so this further widens what can be done.
However, the character in the clip is shorter and certainly stubbier than the character I am modelling, so exactly how gestures and movements are performed would need to be adapted; additionally, the speed of some of these movements could in fact make animation more difficult, as too much could be happening in a short space of time.
Overall, this is a very exaggerated clip including the most movements and gestures out of the three in the same amount of time, while also being very noticeable. Although, it is also much faster in its movements than the others, which could pose some difficulty to animate all of at the correct speed.
